India Photo Tour - Feb 2013 - Day in Delhi

Today is about faces ... what a busy day here in Delhi.  The photographers spent the day visiting different areas of the city.  Our morning started out with rain, which is rare for this time of the year. Plans had to be adjusted slightly as streets and markets fill quickly with water. The upside, beautiful light for colour and faces.

We took a walk around India Gate, the Lotus Mosque, the Islam ruins of Quwwatul and Old Delhi Market by rickshaw.  Each location was great for landscape opportunities and of course people pictures.  Today it seemed that at every stop people wanted their photos taken, or even wanted us in their photos.

It was a great first day out and the group had fun experiencing the city.  Tomorrow morning we head back to Delhi airport to fly to Varinasi, to spend a couple of nights before heading to the Mela Festival in Allahabad.

Below are some images from todays tour around Delhi ... it was all about the faces.  Good night from the Photo Tour Trekkers in India.

Reflections .. India Gate

Wes trying to catch some of the reflections

June was quite popular for having her photo taken today.

What they saw ... keep smiling June!

This beautiful young lady and the family posing with June are from Kashmir.

Her little boy.

Then emails had to be exchanged so they could have copies of the images ... photography opens many doors and is a good will ambassador.

Richard and Sharon, hold tight it can get bumpy.

Wes and Anna, all set to go too.

Jim and Ann .. Let's go!!!

The market is full of so many interesting things to photograph.

The narrow streets are very busy.

With the rain today, it made for some muddy conditions.

You never know what will pass you on the busy streets. Great view!

June, Elly, Richard and Sharon zipping along in the busy traffic.

Every corner you take in Old Delhi produces another interetings scene!

Tonight outside our hotel a wedding party passed by, horse drawn carriage, dancing and music is all part of the celbration.

This is the Maidens Hotel, are home away from home in Delhi

That's it for this evenings entry to our blog.  More reports and images once we reach Varanasi tomorrow.  Good Night from Delhi, India

Looks like everyone is having a great day despite the rain. You captured the graphic back streets or are they the main streets? Have a wonderful time, wish I was there.
