Vietnam & Cambodia Photo Tour
Siem Reap & Angkor Wat Cambodia - April 27th, 2015

Hello from the Photo Tour Trekkers who are now in Cambodia. Yesterday was a travel and rest day thus why no blog last night.

We flew from Ho Chi Minh City yesterday arriving here in Siem Reap just after 1:00 p.m. cleared customs and checked into our hotel. After a relaxing lunch the relaxing continued with some sorting images, and others napping and even I heard talk of swimming and a couple of massages. Photography can be hard work sometimes.

The rest was to prepare for our 5:00 a.m. departure into Angkor Wat National Park to photograph sunrise at the reflection pool near the Angkor Wat Temple. We then spent the remainder of this morning exploring some of the temple. We have two more days here to go back and visit other locations.

This afternoon we went into the market for lunch and a little shopping, (Barry H. check out the one pic of your happy wife today). Then this evening a dinner show with traditional Cambodian dancing.

Enjoy some of the images from our first full day in Cambodia.

Sunrise this morning in Angkor Wat Temple

A grazing horse at sunrise. It works ...

Two monks enjoying the early morning beauty of the temple.

Another shot from sunrise.

This shot gives you and idea of how many people come out each morning to capture the sunrise. Our local guide Sky can be seen in the right hand corner.

Monkeys playing near the main temple gates.

Students heading to school this morning, many families still live within the national park.

A view of the East Gate of Angkor Wat from later this morning.

A panoramic of the temple shot from the east gate.

We were working on some creative panoramic shots between shoots. Tammy, Tammy and Tammy ... It was quite the conversation.

Allan gave it a go showing himself some of the sites.

Inside the inner circle of the temple.

The beautiful bass relief images on the temple walls.

Ever wonder what the taxi drivers do when you are off visiting the temples.

Marion and Tammy on the Angkor Wat steps.

Another view of the inner circle of the temple.

Need your shoes repaired ... in the market this afternoon.

Another view of the market.

Marion ... What an angel.

Marion at her happiest ...

Another one of the market streets.

The pool area in front of the dinner theatre this evening.

One of the beautiful dancers this evening.

This was part of the Monkey Dance.

Three cute little monkey’s who like to dance!

Last shot of the evening ... Monk catching a ride.

That’s a wrap for this evening from a busy and warm day here in Cambodia. Tomorrow we will be back touring the temples. Good night.

Great photos: very diverse - serenity, laughter, creativity, colour and so much more to enjoy. Is it a coincidence that the stonework above temple entry resembles a bearded man's head? Thank you all very much for sharing. Enjoy tomorrow/today ????

Absolutely spectacular! I am very fascinated with the culture that produced this temple complex.
