China Photo Tour - June 13th to July 2nd, 2018

 China Beyond Your Imagination

   China is a photographers playground. China has a mysterious history and each timeline has a unique story to tell, every era in China is steeped in history. Walk through the world’s oldest buildings, renowned heritage sites, the Great Wall and experience the Forbidden City

  I would like to invite you to join me as we photograph and experience the colours and culture of China.  We will fly into Beijing taking time to experience Tian’anmen Square and the Forbidden City. We will also experience the beauty of the Xi’an region, sail down the Li River, experience the Terracotta Warriors and enjoy a three day river cruise onboard the President 8 as we experience the beauty along the Yantgze River.  This is truly China at its best as we visit the highlights this beautiful country has to offer. 

   Wrapping up our China experience with three nights in Hong Kong.  We’ll be staying at the Harbour Grand Kowloon Hotel offering us many waterfront photo opportunities during the day and at night. 

   China is truly “Beyond your Imagination” I look forward to you joining me on our photographic journey.

 China Photo Tour - June 13th to July 2nd, 2018

Day One: Wednesday June 13th, 2018 : Our motor coach departs London at 8 p.m. of June 13th as our Cathay Pacific flight to departs Pearson International at 1:50 a.m. for our flight to Hong Kong. Pick-ups offered in Woodstock and en route to Pearson International airport. Guests from GTA will meet up with the group at the airport. 

Day Two: Thursday June 14th, 2018: Our Cathay Pacific direct flight to Hong Kong departs at 1:50 a.m. onward connection to Beijing.

Day Three:  Friday June 15th, 2018: Our flight arrives in Beijing at 11:15 a.m. We will clear customs meet our local guide and transfer to our hotel. We will have the rest of the day to settle in and relax after our journey. 3 Nights Otani Changfugong Beijing Hotel.

Day Four: Saturday June 16th, 2018: Breakfast at our hotel, meet in the lobby and depart for our first day of photography in Beijing. Our first stop will be Tian’anmen Square then on to visit the Forbidden City. We will have a photo stop in front of the “Egg” National Centre for the Performing Arts. We will then take a pedi-cab into the Hutong area a traditional dwelling quarters of Beijing. Late in the afternoon we will returning to our hotel for dinner. Terracotta Warriors

Day Five: Sunday June 17th, 2018: Breakfast at our hotel then depart for a morning photo shoot at the Mutianyu section of the Great Wall. Later in the morning we will spend some time in the countryside then head back into Beijing. Time permitting we will have opportunity to visit a Jade Factory. In the afternoon a photo walk around Wangfujing pedestrian streets. Late afternoon return to our hotel for time to relax and prepare for our Welcome dinner. Overnight Changfugong Beijing Hotel. Day Six: Monday June 18th, 2018:  Breakfast, check-out and a morning visit to the Temple of Heaven. A great photo opportunity to interact with the locals who also visit the temple to do their morning exercises. Then we will visit the Summer Palace and mid afternoon depart for the airport,. Late this afternoon we will fly to Xi’an. For the next 2 nights we will be staying at the Grand Nobel Hotel. (B) (L) 


The Great Wall

Day Seven Tuesday June 19th, 2018: Breakfast then depart for our visit and photoshoot of the Terracotta Warriors. This afternoon we will visit the lively Muslim Quarter and have opportunity for photography at the Grand Mosque. This evening we will savour a feast at a Dumpling Banquet plus attend the Tang Dynasty show within the Tang Dynasty Palace located in the heart of city centre. Overnight Grand Nobel Hotel.  Day Eight: Wednesday June 20th, 2018: Breakfast, check-out and morning photo shoot and tour to Huian Village. Here we will experience a traditional Lion Dance. This region is where we will also experience the very famous Farmer’s Painting, the best known local rural art community in Huxian County. From the village we will transfer to the airport for our flight to Guilin. Arriving in the early evening we will meet our guide and proceed to our hotel. For the next three nights we will be staying at the Guilin Bravo Hotel (B) (L)


Day Nine: Thursday June 21st, 2018: We will have an early breakfast at our hotel then depart for our cruise on the Li River. We will sail along the river which offers up many photographic landscapes of the mountains and locals along the river. Some of the best photography is the interesting boats we will sail along side as we journey up the river. We will disembark at Yangshuo. We will have time for a photo walk along the prosperous West Street. Afternoon drive back to Guilin. Overnight Guilin Bravo Hotel (B, L, D)

Day Ten: Friday June 22nd, 2018: Breakfast at our hotel then off for a tour and photo shoot featuring Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terrace and Zhuang Ethnic Village. We will be out for the entire day returning to our hotel late in the afternoon. Overnight Guilin Bravo Hotel (B) (L)

Day Eleven: Saturday June 23rd, 2018: Breakfast, check-out and depart for the airport. This morning we will fly from Guilin to Chongqing. After meeting our guide at the airport we will visit the centre of Chongqing to visit the Great Hall of the People and Ciqikou Old Town. We will have opportunity to photograph the Panda this afternoon. Dinner then transfer to the pier to board our Yangtze River Cruise. For the next three nights we travel the Yangtze River onboard the MV President. our guests will enjoy deluxe cabins with a balcony. Our ship departs at 9:00 p.m. (B, L, D)


Day Twelve: Sunday June 24th, 2018: Morning Taichi exercise, Breakfast. Todays shore excursion will be to Shibozhai, with an optional tour to Fengdu Ghost City. This evening an onboard welcome banquet, with traditional entertainment and dancing. Overnight onboard we continue to sail the Yangtze. (B) (L) (D)

Day Thirteen: Monday June 25th, 2018: Morning Taichi exercise, Breakfast then deck time to enjoy and photograph as our ship passes through Qutang George, Wu Gorge and then a shore excursion along the Shennong Stream. Option of visiting White Emperor City. Dinner this evening and ship board performance. Overnight onboard our ship as we continue to sail towards Yichang.(B, L, D)

Day Fourteen: Tuesday June 26th, 2018: Morning Taichi exercise, Breakfast, then disembark our ship and transfer to the airport for our flight to Shanghai. We will meet our guide at the gate and transfer to our hotel the Central Hotel Shanghai for the next three nights. We will have time to relax, explore the hotel and region before dinner. (B) (L)

Day Fifteen: Wednesday June 27th, 2018: After breakfast we will depart for a day of photography exploring the city. Our day trip will include Yu Garden, Old Town, the Bund, Shanghai Museum and Xintiandi and Pudong New Development Zone of Shanghai. This evening we will enjoy an evening cruise on the Huangpu River. Overnight Central Hotel Shanghai. (B) (L)


Shanghai reflections

Day Sixteen: Thursday June 28th, 2018: Breakfast then a morning drive to Suzhou to visit Ou Garden including a Chinese calligraphy lesson. We will visit a Silk Spinning Factory then take a short cruise on the Grand Canal and enjoy a photo walk along Pingjiang Road. Late afternoon we will head back to our hotel. Overnight Central Central Hotel Shanghai. (B) (L)

Day Seventeen: Friday June 29th, 2018: Breakfast, check-out and transfer to the airport for our flight to Hong Kong. Arriving in Hong Kong we will meet our guide and travel to our hotel the Harbour Grand Kowloon. We will have time to settle in relax, dinner and then have our first opportunity for night photography as our hotel is situated on the harbour front. We will be staying at the Harbour Grand Kowloon hotel for three nights. (B)


Day Eighteen: Saturday June 30th, 2018: Breakfast then head out for our photo exploration of Hong Kong. We will start with a funicular tram ride up to Victoria Peak (Approximately 1,305 feet above sea level). Here you will have a magnificent panorama view of the Victoria harbour below. We will also visit Repulse Bay, Deep Bay and Stanley Market. Finally a visit to the Aberdeen Fishing Village (home of the floating populations). We will return through Happy Valley and Aberdeen Tunnel arriving back to your hotel late in the afternoon. Night photography opportunities. Overnight Harbour Grand Kowloon hotel (B) (L)

Funicular tram ride up to Victoria Peak

Day Nineteen: Sunday July 1st, 2018: Breakfast followed by a morning photo walking tour of the harbour region close to our hotel. We will have some leisure time this afternoon for last minute shopping and packing for our journey home. Tonight, our farewell dinner. (B, L, D) 

Day Twenty: Monday July 2nd, 2018: Breakfast, check-out and travel to the airport for check-in for our return flight home. Our Cathay Pacific flight departs at 10:35 a.m. arriving in Toronto Pearson International airport at 1:55 p.m. After clearing customs we will say good-bye to guests that joined us from connections and the GTA region board our motor coach and arriving in London at approximately 5:30 p.m.

Our China Photo Tour is $6,999.00 per person plus air taxes of $331.99 and 17.19 HST CAD, based on double occupancy, single supplement is an additional $1,555.00 CAD. This tour price is based on air departure out of Toronto. If departing from another city please contact us for pricing.

A non refundable deposit of $775 CAD is required at time of booking, balance is due 60 days prior to departure.  Tourcan Vacations recommends the purchase of travel and health insurance as tour takes us out of the country.
