Day Three: Thursday February 15th, 2024  After breakfast check-out and transfer to our ship. Papeete ... we will have time to settle in onboard our ship as we beging our journey. Enjoy the sunny beaches, sample Tahitian fare, and take in the spirit of the city. We will have unique photo opportunities as we visit French Tahiti and we won't have to deal with large crowds or big tour groups as French Tahiti is only accessible to small ships like ours. Day Four: Friday February 16th, 2024 Our journey continues, Papeete to Moorea. Welcome to paradise ... Mo'orea is part of French Polynesia's Society Islands archipelago. It is known for the jagged volcanic mountains and sandy beaches. In the north, Mount Rotui overlooks picturesque Ōpūnohu Bay and the settlements around Cook's Bay. Inland, hiking trails wind through rainforest on the slopes of Mount Tohivea. Visit dolphins in their native habitat and time to spend swimming and kayaking from Wind Spirit’s Watersports Platform. Day Five: Saturday February 17th, 2024  Sailing to Raiatea, “The Sacred Island,” is located just across the lagoon from Tahaa and shares the same barrier reef. (Legend claims the two were a single island until a conger eel possessed by the spirit of a princess separated them.) It used to be the center of religion and culture in the Society Islands. Taputapuatea, on the southeast coast, was once the most important marae around, the place where kings from the neighboring islands would gather for important ceremonies. Uturoa, the main town, reminds some people of Papeete in its younger days with its quaint low-rise buildings. Raiatea is also home to the only navigable river in the islands, the Fa’aroa. Explore Polynesian history or climb Mount Temehani in search of the rare tiare apetahi flower, which grows only here. (B) (L) (D)

Day Six: Sunday February 18th, 2024 As we continue our islands journey we sail to Motu Mahaea (Tahaa). Today we will visit a private island, with time to explore and photograph the beautiful palm trees and white-sand beaches. Also time to swim, snorkel and enjoy a variety of water sports. Our guests will enjoy a delicious barbeque lunch during our time on the private island. Explore Tahaa, optional excursions to discover the vanilla plantations and sacred sites of the island. (B) (L) (D)

Day Seven: Monday February 19th, 2024 Sailing on to Bora Bora ... from the moment we sail into the region and during our stay there will be plenty of time to photograph the beauty and colours of this island. The waters are a kaleidoscope of colours. You’ll have lots of options for island exploration today including a chance to  explore in 4-by-4 jeeps. Snorkeling and swimming opportunities.

Tonight will be a Windstar Discovery Event held on the shores of the island. Bora Bora is surrounded by a number of tiny islets called “motu” – small, pristine, secluded paradises that offer privacy, beauty and relaxing ambiance. We will spend the evening on one of these perfect Polynesian oasis accompanied only by the members of our ship. It has long been the tradition in Tahiti, you will be welcomed to the motu with a fragrant flower lei. Our private dinner on the beach promises to be extraordinary. The menu has been carefully selected by Windstar’s executive chef.

After our meal and as the stars begin to shine, the highlight of this evening will begin. Fire dancing has long been deeply embedded in the Polynesian culture as a way to send messages to the gods. Your fire dancing experts will be wearing traditional loincloths and will dazzle you with high-speed acrobatic moves, throwing flames so hot you’ll feel the warmth 10 feet away. Many great photo opportunities during this evenings Discovery event. (B) (L) (D)

In the center of the island are the remnants of an extinct volcano, rising to two peaks, Mount Pahia and Mount Otemanu; the highest point is at 727 m (2,385 ft). We will have time today to meet and review some of our images in one of the great gathering space onboard our ship. Later this evening, continue our sailing to Huahine.  (B) (L) (D)

Day Nine: Wednesday February 21st, 2024 The island of Huahine is equivalent to the Garden of Eden, Huahine is an immense tropical jungle thriving with coconut plantations, vanilla orchids, banana groves, breadfruit trees and watermelon fields. Beyond its lush landscapes and bright blooms, Huahine is also a culturally preserved sanctuary with sacred temples hidden throughout dense vegetation. Anchored here we will have time to explore the lush forests, the tropical landscapes, and the quaint villages to discover one of Polynesia’s best kept secrets. Here, at a slower pace, see a glimpse of the authentic South Pacific island lifestyle. Stop by the Maeva archaeological site and wander around the 150-odd marae (temple sites) and 400-year-old stone fish traps that are still in use. Snorkeling opportunities once again today.
