I would like to welcome you to the Photo Tour Trekkers website. We are dedicated to giving you the best photography and travel experiences. Our focus is creating photo adventures to some of the most interesting places our planet has to offer.
Photo Tour Trekkers has come a long way since its beginning. I created Trekkers as a result of many conversations with photographers telling me of their frustrations taking photographs while travelling. If you are serious about photography you know it’s important to be in the right place at the right time. It’s all about the light.
Many tours offer great destinations but their itineraries do not provide enough time for taking photographs. I've been told there is nothing worse than being branded the photographer of the group because you took more time to get the shot. This does not happen on our photo tours. We are all about having plenty of time at any given location.
Our tours are created with photography in mind. We cater to all photographers, from beginners to the most advanced, and design the experience for you to be comfortable with your photography and travels. I feel having fun makes you more relaxed, and the more relaxed you are the more creative you become.
My passion for travel photography inspired me to learn more about the travel industry and how to connect this with my 38 years of photography experience. I studied travel and the business of travel, and became licensed in the industry. I was able to turn my passion for adventure into what is now known as Photo Tour Trekkers.
Photo Tour Trekkers has travelled to some amazing places in the past years, including India to photograph the Taj Mahal under the full moon and on tiger safaris in their national parks, Uganda for up-close photography of the mountain gorillas, on wildlife safari adventures in Kenya, Tanzania, Namibia, and South Africa, and to Churchill to photograph polar bears. We have also travelled to Madagascar, the Galapagos Islands, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Peru, Iceland, Antarctica, Scotland, England, Ireland, Turkey, Greece, the American southwest, New Zealand, Vietnam, Cambodia, China and many other destinations around the world.
I have partnered with my travel colleague and friend Vivek Khanna, owner and president of Tourcan Vacations. This has opened new doors allowing us to work with even more travel partners around the world as we develop new travel photo tours. Tourcan Vacations is a Canadian travel company serving the travel industry for over 34 years. Trekkers is proud to be part of such an amazing team of travel experts.
