February 25th, 2020 - Danco Island
Early this morning, we entered the Errera Channel and witnessed a beautiful sunrise. As we sailed through the chanel we started seeing whales in the distance, they were mostly Humpback and minke. As we sailed deeper into the channel toward Danco Island, where we saw penguins for the first time, but also seals, icebergs, and some of the most incredible scenery you can imagine. On deck most of the morning as every time you turned around there was another image.
Times were set by our expedition crew for cruising around the inlet and landing on Danco Island. Our group landing was early afternoon and we were greeted by a welcoming committee of Gentoo penguins. This is the time of year they start to molt so there was some interesting subjects to photograph.
Todays gallery contains over 100 images and what better way to tell the story of our adventure. Enjoy.
