Galapagos Islands - Day 10 & 11 San Cristobal, Lobos and home.
Today and tomorrow morning visit San Cristobal Island. Overnight we sailed to Punta Pitt Islet where we experienced spectacular landscapes and were lucky enough to come across two boobies feeding their young. It is interesting to watch them as they wait until the frigate birds leave before they feed the young. The frigates will steal the fish as the boobie is feeding. So they are very careful. We also enjoyed a hike to the coast before returning to the bay. This afternoon we visited Cerro Brujo which is located on the north side of San Cristobal Island. Cerro Brujo offers an excellent landscape, from where you can see Kicker Rock. Overnight we anchored in the San Cristobal harbour, had our farewell dinner, and toasted the crew. The next morning we visited Isla Lobos home of two different species of sea lions and a small population of blue footed boobies and common frigate birds. Then we returned to San Cristobal where we began our journey home. Today we flew from the islands back to Quito then the following morning home to Canada.
