Costa Rica Blog Day 4 and 5 - Mon Feb10 and Tue Feb 11, 2020
Another two great days in Costa Rica … On Monday morning we departed our lodge at 7:50 a.m. to visit the hanging bridges of Selvatura. Salvatura’s Treetop Walkways are a 3 km trail that crosses through the cloud forest, we walked through eight different bridges varying in lengths from 150 ft to 510 feet and heights from 36 feet to 180 feet about the rain forest. In the afternoon we had plenty of time to photograph various species of hummingbirds including several that can only be found in this region. Late afternoon we had opportunity to photograph many different types of butterflies. It was a great day.
Today Tuesday Feb 11 we departed early this morning for Cano Negro and district found in the Costa Rica low lands. Mid day enroute we stopped for lunch and I had arranged a surprise visit with some Canadian friends that are here visiting too, Sidney and Victoria Siu. What I did not realize when we left Canada ( I knew Sidney and his wife were here) was that 4 of my travel guest photographers also knew Sidney and had traveled with him before. So I contacted Sidney, found out where they were staying which was on our route today and arranged a surprise lunch. It was great that everyone had a chance to visit. I’ve included a few images in todays gallery. Late this afternoon we arrived in Cano Negro and will be here for the next three nights. We have a 6:00 a.m. morning shoot as we are traveling out on the wetlands via a boat. More updates tomorrow. Enjoy todays gallery of images. Good night from all the Trekkers in Cano Negro, Costa Rica.
