Day 2 February 8th Ox Carts, Colourful Birds and Yellow Viper
After breakfast at our hotel in San Jose we check-out we began our journey to Cano Negro. Along our travels today we made a few photo stops. Our first stop was to visit Sarchi, a very interesting village about 2 hours outside of San Jose and famous for its hand made Ox Carts. Our first photo shoot was at the factory where they still make the carts the same way they did 100 years ago. The shop machinery is powered by a water wheel. Plenty of colour and interesting items to see and photograph. We had lunch at a country house which gave us opportunity to sample the local foods and all around their porch feeders to attract the tropical birds. Great for more colour and a nice way to to enjoy lunch. Photographing colourful birds and a great lunch.
This afternoon we carried on to Vernal Volcano and had opportunity to photograph some of the colourful birds in the park. We also had opportunity to photograph a Yellow eyelash viper snake. We then carried on to Cano Negro which now takes us to the wetlands of Costa Rica. We will be here for the next three days. Enjoy todays gallery of images, did I mention Toucans too.
