India Day 9 & 10 - In for some Birding
We relocated from Jaipur to Bharatpur, home of the Keoladeo National Park. Today was the warmest day of our journey and although we are enjoying the warm weather the birds and animals were not expected to be very active during the day.
After a lunch at “The Birder’s Inn” where we are staying, and some relaxation time we boarded 3 wheel rickshaws to experience an evening sunset ride photographing the birds at Keoladeo National Park. We predicted correctly as the sun began to set the temperature dropped and the park was teaming with activity.
Deer, Jackals, Warthogs, and countless species of birds were everywhere.
Keoladeo bird sanctuary and national park has long been recognized as one of the world’s most important bird breeding and feeding grounds. The marshland is a wintering area for aquatic birds, migrating from Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, China and Siberia.
