Israel Blog - Tel Aviv, Old Jaffa and Caesarea
Friday October 24th, 2019
We have arrived safely in Tel Aviv on the evening of October 23rd. This morning we drive to Old Jaffa, (Ancient Joppa). We photographed the old street and visited the House of Simon the tanner.According to tradition, Simon the Tanner (leatherworker) hosted here Peter, Jesus’ Apostle, during his travels in the Land of Israel. The New Testament says that Peter performed a miracle in Jaffa – the resurrection of Tabitha, a woman known for her virtue, with the words “Tabitha, rise” (Acts 9). We continued our photowalk around the narrow streets of the Old Jaffa and restored harbour, then proceeded to the Flea market We then traveled out of Tel Aviv and proceed along the shores of the Mediterranean to Caesarea, the former ancient capital built by King Herod. We visited the restored ancient Roman theatre, the Hippodrome and the Aqueduct. Quite a busy first day. Tomorrow we will travel to Acre, a Crusader City.Below is the link to todays photo blog gallery, good night from Tel Aviv, Israel.
