Israel Blog - Jerusalem, Bethlehem Mount of Olives
Monday October 30th, 2019
Our final morning in Israel we visited Temple Mount. Walk to visit the Dome of the Rock and El Aksa Mosque. What a view, we then walked along the old wall of the city up to Mount Zion to the Room of the Last Supper, and visited the tomb of King David. We visited the ruins of the City of David, located on the narrow ridge just to the south of the Old City. The archaeological exploration of the City of David began in the middle of the 19th century and continues today. We then drove to Bethlehem the birthplace of Jesus, we met our local guide and visited the Church of Nativity with its grottos of the manger location under the church. Our final stop was the Mount of Olives looking back to the City of Jerusalem. This evening after dinner picked up for our journey home tomorrow morning traveling home via Paris.
