Experiencing Cefalù
Another beautiful day in Sicily ... Today we visited Bagheria and the sea side town of Cefalù. Our first stop was Villa Palagonia, once of the most eccentric Villa’s you will ever visit. Also known as the “Villa of Monsters” it lived up to the name. Throughout the property imaginary animals, anthropoid figures, statues of ladies and knights, musicians and many other creatures. The house and gardens were very interesting to photograph and explore.
Then on to Cefalù, a picturesque seaside village packed with interesting architecture, mixed with seaside landscape. Lunch by the ocean and time to explore the town, cathedral and shore. A great day with plenty of photo opportunities. Late this afternoon we returned to Palermo and this evening went out to a small cafe for a pizza dinner. The pizza’s kept coming every each selection better than the last. A fun night on the streets of Palermo. Tomorrow we will be visiting Monreale full of art, interesting structures and mosaics. Enjoy the galleries of images from todays adventure. Good night from Palermo.
